Our Lady of FATIMA has just arrived, hence the excitement of all. I could not go and welcome the statue although I did make it on the second afternoon. More posts later on!
St Teresa of Avila, pray for us!
Here we see a group of men engaged in good clean fun. They are friends of my nephew Michael who is shown in the above photographs; some of his venture scout friends when they were in St Joseph’s Institution are also here.
I was impressed by the love and camaraderie of these men who still remain as friends to go mountain climbing in Mount Ophir, Tangkat in Malaysia. Some have gone to Mount Everest.
In fact, one of them is Edwin Siew who is the first Singaporean to climb Mount Everest. He shared with the rest the account of his climb. He summited without even an oxygen tank, and he was eating lots of rice. He is a vegetarian, by the way. What an adventure it must have been! Thank God for keeping him safe and sound!
David in the red tee shirt is the Expedition leader, together with Edwin and Conrad, and the outing was so well organised in early May this year 2017. One of the men Jeffrey remained at base camp to watch their items. Talk about giving and taking! Thanks for the sacrifice offered! Thanks be to God for their joyful trip.
Lots in the news. For me I was just blessed and I wanted to be at a place where people go for confessions and pray almost all the time. For me it was also a time of fellowshipping and taking photographs to remember the days we spent together. Here you get to eat good food and to enjoy the hospitality of the locals . . . Yes, these are very hospitable people and that makes a lot of difference to our days spent there. Just one place each year for Lorna and her family, and that is so satisfying because they were the ones who introduced the place to us.
Imagine. . . Yes, I just imagine the day I meet St Paul
When ? I know not
How ? I also know not the details
But I would be so happy
Yet the word ‘happiness’ is an understatement
Yes, I long to go where St Paul is
Enjoying his reward for all eternity
St Paul, I wish to tell you
about how you are touching my life
how your own life gives me inspiration
how you change so many of my ideas
making me different and far from the person I used to be
indeed your word in the New Testament
inspired by the Holy Spirit has power
I could go on and on . . .
What I remember too is that you ,St Paul, are a chosen instrument of God!
So let me cease to be surprised that
you are able to help me so much
through your letters in the New Testament!
Praise the Lord!
